The Word "Deregulation"

I was telling my wife last night that it has only been within the last week that anybody, Democrats as well as Republicans, were willing to utter the word "deregulation" as being a cause of our current crash.

Even during the Enron debacle in the early part of this decade the issues were always falsely framed away from the use of this tainted term. Thus it was the way the California law was drawn up that was the fault, etc.

Why would nobody utter the word in a perjorative way? My theory: everyone feared Rush Limbaugh and the constant talk-radio seeping into the ears of a vast public, with no counter.

Those who "knew" kept quiet.
