David Brooks on Bush and the Surge

I've posted David Brooks's Op-Ed pieces a good bit, mainly when his main theme resonates with me. This one does too although it pains me. The Surge is working. Those 20,000 extra men made a difference. Bush overrode the overwhelming opinion in and out of the administration.

Okay, I'll point to another success: appointing Paulson as Secretary of the Treasury. And I felt so when he did it.
